Michelle Denny Recruitment is working alongside John Doe of Diss in their search for an enthusiastic and experienced Café Cook to join their team. The Café is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, and we are looking for a capable and passionate cook who can help maintain John Doe’s reputation for delicious food and excellent service.
The working hours can be on a full time or part time basis. Each will include some weekend shifts, with core full time hours of 7:30am – 3:30pm for 5 days per week, with rotation of Saturday & Sundays. Pay is £11.50 per hour.
Working with a lovely kitchen team, responsibilities will include:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including brunch items, sandwiches, light lunches, soups, salads, and desserts
Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standard of quality and presentation
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and work area and assist with general kitchen duties
Assist with menu planning and occasional recipe development
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
What you’ll need:
Previous experience working as a cook in a café, restaurant or pub setting
Excellent communication and organisational skills with a team spirit
The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
A willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, and weekends (but NO evenings!)
A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, with Level 2 Food Hygiene a must
