The individual will be responsible for the accurate processing of assets entering and leaving the department to meet operational requirements on the Air Station and in support of overseas detachments. Also responsible for ensuring that all regulations appertaining to the receipt, dispatch, issue, handling, preservation, stowage and security of stores are accurately and consistently applied. Training on all Manual/IT systems will be provided, enabling the applicant to become proficient in their role empowering them to make key independent decisions.
The applicant will also be required to assist with other duties within the department when situations decide.

Ensuring that all regulations appertaining to the receipt, dispatch, issue, handling, preservation, stowage and security of stores are properly and consistently applied.
- Assisting in maintaining the integrity of the Supply Chain account by completing all transactions promptly using appropriate IT or manual accounting systems.
- Attend two-week residential course to become trained and proficient in the movement of goods classified as dangerous by Road or Air. Remain current on all changes to policy and regulations. Renew certification’s when required, 2 years Air/5 years Road.
- Act as Dangerous Goods trained specialist within the Dispatch department.
- Identify items classified as Dangerous Goods and raise all relevant paperwork needed to ensure onward movement via Road/Air in accordance with current policy and regulations.
- Physically prepare and package all Dangerous Goods consignments in accordance with current policy and regulations to ensure safe conveyance to destination via Road/Air.
- Assist with preparation of all other assets for onward move to external sources, Mainland or Overseas. Ensure assets are packed to required standard to ensure safe conveyance.
- Ensure all relevant documentation is raised to ensure assets can reach their destination. Select appropriate transport provider to ensure asset meets Required Delivery Date whilst providing best value for money.
· Record outgoing assets on VITAL to ensure tracking of asset during conveyance. · Assisting with the safe unloading of the daily Stores delivery wagon (RIFTS). Use of VITAL (asset tracking system) Hand-Held Device (HHD) to scan incoming consignment against drivers manifest.
- Assisting with safe loading of outgoing assets onto the RIFTS wagon, raise and present all relevant paperwork to the driver for signature and retain copies for audit purposes.
- Unpack individual consignments and physically check against accompanying paperwork. Bring to account using stores accounting system (MJDI). Satisfy customer demands and pass assets with accompanying paperwork to relevant internal delivery system dependant on priority. Assets for stock, pass to the relevant stock holding group (SHG).
- Operate mechanical handling aids and other SC related transport to support various tasks within the department subject to training and possession of appropriate licences.
- Assist Building Manager with the maintenance of building security, cleanliness and environmental issues.
· Comply with all Station and Supply Chain Orders and Health & Safety regulations. · Liaise with and assist other departments within the Supply Chain, providing cover to control work flows.
- Carry out any reasonable task within the post holder’s grade that contributes to the efficient running of the SC department with the agreement of the post holder.
The Skill Zone 2 (SZ2) Storekeeper is responsible for aiding the Skill Zone 3 (SZ3) Storekeeper, Receipt & Dispatch (R&D), in the efficient accounting and processing of assets that enter/leave the R&D department.
The SZ2 Storekeeper is required to undertake duties commensurate with their grade within the Supply Chain (SC) department as directed by the Logistics Officer, Main Stores Group (LO MSG). They are responsible for ensuring their professional knowledge of store-keeping, stores accounting procedures and principles remain current.
The Skill Zone 2 Storekeeper is part of the R&D department that sits within the Supply Chain, Logistics department of RNAS Culdrose.
