Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team in Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead London as a Healthcare Assistant. You will be part of a team providing excellent service to our patients, their families and loved ones.

Title: Healthcare Assistant Hospice

Salary: AFC BAND 2 £21,318 (dependant on experience) pro rata per annum plus high-cost area allowance and enhancements

Hours/Contract: Full Time- Days/Nights

Contract Type: Permanent

Based: Hampstead Hospice

Closing date: 30th April 2023

Marie Curie provides free specialist support and care for patients with cancer and other life limiting conditions, and their families. We aim to give patients the best possible quality of life, meeting their medical, spiritual and social needs, while also providing their families with the emotional support they need.

To join our dedicated, caring team, you'll need an S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma, or be willing to work towards it, and relevant experience – ideally within a care setting. Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support. We expect you to have a talent for forging strong empathetic relationships with all kinds of people, whilst providing palliative care. Due to the nature of the role a flexible approach including the ability to work on a rotational basis over days/nights and weekends is essential.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work within a team.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns
  • Recent experience in a health/social care setting
  • An empathy and understanding of issues encountered by patients with palliative care needs
