Job Description

Administrator & Counter Operative

Hours: We are looking for a full time candidate – Approx 30 hours Monday to Friday. A recommendation of 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday with a 30 min lunch / 8.30am to 12.30pm Fri.
We are open 7am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to Midday on Friday. Start & finish time is negotiable for the right candidate. We are closed Friday Afternoons, closed weekends and closed bank holidays. Compulsory holiday of approx one week to 10 days for Christmas closure. Flexible holiday through the rest of the year.

Duties: This opportunity is predominantly Office based. Duties will include, answering the telephone, taking orders, raising orders in the system, filing, data entry, emails etc. However there will be a requirement for signing for the occasional parcel, order picking, passing customer orders for collection, use of the till and other duties as required. All training will be given - no experience needed, just a polite & clear telephone manner.
Transport will be required due to our location.

Pay: Competitive package including pension. Starting wage subject to experience and training requirement, will exceed minimum wage. Will also depend on hours agreed to work. Will include 4 weeks paid holiday per year plus bank holidays (minimum of one week to be used every Christmas to cover our closure)

We do not ask employees to work in hand. Your wages clear in advance approx. 25th of each month for the month were in up to and including the last day of that month.

Contract Term: Permanent : This will be a permanent position on the condition of the training being successful and subject to a 3 month trial. Should all go well, following the 3 months temporary trial contract, a permanent contract will be issued.

Attire: We are an office/warehouse environment and occasional supplier & customer facing, therefore a uniform and safety footwear will be provided.

A little about us: We are a small family run business who have operated locally for more than 25 years, with long standing staff members having been with us for more than 20 years. Originally two businesses, one predominantly industry with the sales of tools and PPE, the second taken on in 2005 being cleaning and hygiene consumables, following 6 successful years of running alongside each other, the two companies merged in to one in 2011. Currently a 5 member team, we pride ourselves on team work and customer service - always happy to help each other when needed. Our business is open 7am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7am - 12.30pm Fridays. Closed weekends, bank holidays & Christmas.

We are Trerulefoot, Saltash, therefore transport would be required.
