This role is being recruited to support the Public Protection Policing Standards Manager (PP-PSM).
The PP-PSM covers the 14 strands of public protection, including some areas that are consistently high profile such as child sexual exploitation, rape and sexual offences, child abuse, forced marriage, FGM, modern slavery, domestic abuse, vulnerability to radicalisation, adults at risk, etc.
A Senior Policy Advisor – Public Protection is being recruited to provide consistent and sustained support to these areas of business. Experience and knowledge of vulnerability, risk and public protection are essential in this role. The successful candidate will work across the criminal justice sector, with a variety of stakeholders to develop, deliver and implement standards and guidance, produce and provide learning and knowledge products and identify and share evidence-based practice to policing to ensure the best possible responses to public protection. They will draft and develop evidence-based policing standards and guidance within specific area of subject matter expertise, engaging with, consulting and advising police forces, agencies and other stakeholder organisations, to support the promotion and embedding of professional practice across policing.
The role will, in the first instance, focus on the priority area of public protection.
