We have exciting opportunities for nursing associates and band 5 nurses to join our expanding team

The post holder will promote compassionate and forward thinking care to achieve high standards of clinical care, patient safety and team development. Leading an ethos of multidisciplinary collaboration, promoting excellence, with a can do problem solving approach and work to maintain safe and effective team culture.

We're looking for an enthusiastic individuals to join our fast-paced and energetic team on the DCU unit and the Discharge lounge. We strive to continuously review the way we work and how care is delivered across our site. So we need someone who is a logical thinker, who can think on their feet, with organisational and influencing skills who likes a challenge!

Applicants for this busy and dynamic role will need to be good communicators, be capable of working under pressure and able to work on your own initiative as this is a demanding role.

Candidates will have high levels of energy and enthusiasm, a personality that is upbeat and motivated.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

You would be managing your own caseload of patients, You will complete a nurse led admission for your group of patients and you must be able to communicate effectively to gain a detailed medical history in order to provide a safe pathway for rehabilitation and discharge.

You will be required to work flexibly within the team in a dynamic and changeable environment which can evolve throughout the day with competing demands and post-operative requirements.

We want to find Nurses with excellent communication skills to link our team with the wider multidisciplinary services involved in our patient's pathway. We are looking for individuals who are not afraid to advocate for our patients and to build up a rapport in a time where they can feel anxious and uncertain about their rehabilitation

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register

Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC

Experience

Essential

Previous/recent experience of working in an acute / NHS care setting (can include student/ trainee placements within the last 12 months)

Evidence of achievements and career development in current post of on-going professional development/competence.

Experience of working on own and in a team in a health care environment delegating others within a team/providing supervision to others

Can articulate willingness & demonstrate knowledge in relation to student supervision and assessment (This can include experience as student Nurse, Registered Nurse for newly qualified applicants)

Understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct

Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context in relation to the role

Can demonstrate an understanding / experience of the principles of Safeguarding and Mental Capacity and how this related to the role

Awareness of health and safety issues
