If you're looking for a career that allows you to use your passion for supporting the mental wellbeing of others, you could be just who we're looking for.
We're a busy service, working to ensure our clients get the best possible support - whether that's through ourselves or another, more appropriate service for them.
We are looking to recruit Trainee High Intensity Therapists to join this vibrant team of highly experienced practitioners delivering a NHS Primary Care Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) contract across Surrey for the 2023-2024 cohort starting in September 2023. Practitioners will be applying for the one year full-time IAPT Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Intervention (CBT) based at the University of Surrey, Guildford campus. Further information about the course can be found on the University of Surrey PGDip website and upon completion of this course you will transition into a full time qualified High Intensity position in Service.
About the job
Are you an experienced mental health or social care worker with a recognised professional qualification working in a mental health setting? Have you considered training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)?
Our mental health support service provides high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to our clients and as a trainee high-intensity therapist, you will complete a programme of training to support your learning and development in this field of therapy.
You will work with people from a whole range of cultural backgrounds and ages, and your particular focus will be those with complex anxiety and depression related problems where CBT has shown to be a particularly effective treatment.
Applications are invited from qualified clinical or counselling psychological therapists, Mental Health Nurses, Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners . Applicants without a core profession (such as Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners or Counsellors without UKCP or BACP accreditation) must be able to meet the required KSA process criteria (see the BABCP website for more information).
