Intertek's Caleb Brett UK business provides quality and quantity measurement, inspection, and laboratory testing services to the global oil, gas, petrochemical, petroleum refining & distribution, natural gas, biofuels, marine, and chemicals industries.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Analyst to join our dynamic team based in West Thurrock.
ABOUT THE ROLE
To analyse and release petroleum products. The position will involve (but is not limited to):
- Testing a variety of petroleum products to ASTM and IP test methods.
- Preparing and testing sample blends as requested by customers
- To prepare and test quality control samples, to standardise reagents and solutions and calibrate equipment as needed for the testing process.
- Verifying samples to specifications and communicating results obtained.
- Make appropriate entries in the required records and systems.
- Generate reports for release to customers.
- Receive and log in samples for testing on the required systems.
- Maintain documentation as required to meet ISO 17025.
ABOUT YOU
Required skills and experience
- Good IT literacy skills
- Knowledge of chemistry, with A level qualifications or above and preferable experience in analytical instrumentation
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures, in accordance with company policies and established methodologies
- Results driven to focus contribution on activities which meet company goals and deliver the greatest value
- Ability to critique and improve activities through continuous improvement and innovation
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service
- Encourage teamwork (promote operational synergies and alignment) to support each other, our customers and grow together
