Main duties of the role
The post holder will undertake a range of clinical duties including wound care, dressings, observations, applying plaster of Paris, splints and bandaging to patients with fractures and sprains, wound closure (glue/steri-stripps), removal of sutures/clips, worsening advice/ aftercare and personal care to patients.
In addition, the role will include ordering medications, stock control, and working with local pharmacies to ensure the department has enough stock to provide frequency-used and emergency medications to patients. You will take an active lead role in these duties and will be expected to undertake mandatory training in the safe handling of drugs.
Furthermore, the post holder will also contribute to administrative, reception and housekeeping duties within the service location and there will be times when reception cover will be required. Training for this will be offered.
There may be times when the post holder is asked to travel to assist with other sites across FCMS.
