Business Development Consultant (Scotland)

Here at Babington we pride ourselves on delivering robust training programmes across a multitude of professional areas nationally and we are looking for Business Development Consultants to build and manage a lucrative portfolio of clients.

Summary of role
This is a proactive sales engagement role within the Growth team with a focus on identifying apprenticeship vacancies with new and existing customers and providing them with suitable apprentices around the UK. Reporting to the Growth Manager your success will come from identifying and gaining new clients/accounts across multiple sectors. You will develop relationships with employers and learners to achieve your monthly targets and key performance indicators. You will play a key role in meeting Babington’s growth ambitions whilst fulfilling our purpose of Developing Better Futures.

The role is all about relationship building to increase the placement of candidates within apprenticeship opportunities and build relationships to become a trusted advisor and promoter of Babington programmes and solutions

Generate new business through developing the skills as outlined in the sales capability framework via successful marketing campaigns, telephone communication, well-constructed written communication or face to face meetings.

Fully understand the benefits of Babington and our solutions and be enthusiastic in promoting opportunities to potential Employers and Learners.

Be tenacious about updating all prospects and pipeline opportunities within CRM with both client and candidate information.

Being part of a dynamic sales team and function, participating in daily and weekly briefings and team development sessions.

Arrange apprenticeship interviews with both the Employer and Learner, working closely with Candidate Engagement Resourcers.

Undertake regular research to ensure that you remain up to date with changes and developments within the sector, subscribing to relevant e-newsletters from ESFA, RAA, OFSTED etc.

Ensure that you operate in line with the staff handbook and all other company policies and codes of conduct to which the company always subscribes.

This is a key sales role with clearly defined individual and team targets to achieve on a monthly basis

To achieve, as a minimum, the monthly targets for apprenticeship placements focusing on a product mix that will align with plans for profitable growth.

Ensure that you are fully aware of the company’s safeguarding policy and your responsibilities within that and refer any matters for concern to the company’s designated safeguarding officer for further investigation.
Essential Qualifications
Grade A-C GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
Level 2 Information, Advice and Guidance qualification or willingness to acquire
Skills and experience

Extensive Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Customer (B2C) experience Experience of selling Government funded training

Experience in recruitment, marketing or sales.

Experience of delivering high level of service and satisfaction.

Experience of successfully achieving deadlines and working without close supervision.

Experience of liaising with employers and external agencies.

Experience of managing databases / CRM systems for lead generation.

Experience self-motivating to achieve KPIs and targets

Ability to establish and maintain rapport with a wide variety of people.

Effective negotiation skills

Knowledge of labour market information.

Ability to work within a target driven environment.

Knowledge of the Awarding Organisations, Funding Bodies and Ofsted regulatory arrangements

Hold a clean driving license with access to a vehicle or ability to travel nationally
