Job Description
The right candidate for this position will have strong experience in managing projects. You will manage resources, deliverables, risks, and dependencies ensuring that projects are supported with appropriate capacity and skills to achieve successful outcomes – also, providing project transparency and accurate reporting. Scheduling meetings, ensuring milestones are met, and working with the executive team to meet project timelines. The successful applicant for this position will be an organised and reliable professional who is always professional and will especially enjoy working alongside a fast-paced and results-oriented team.
It is essential that you work collaboratively within the multi-skilled Change Team and in tandem with specialist delivery managers in our Digital, Data and Technology function. They will also need to work with teams across the wider Commission to ensure inclusion and effective conflict resolution during the initiation, delivery, and post-delivery cycle of each project. You will be responsible for understanding and interpreting the Senior Responsible Officer’s project vision and ensuring this is developed into a final product through oversight of design requirements, testing, implementation, launch and evaluation.
The role may include occasional weekend and evening work where a project manager is supporting the business through system and technical implementations, also occasional travel between the Commissions’ locations may be required.
Job description
- Leading project teams to deliver successful outputs. You will ensure teams are empowered to produce high quality services, following best practices and to Commission standards. You will be primarily responsible for the timely and on-cost delivery of projects from initiation through to evaluation and close.
- Stakeholder management and engagement. You will take responsibility and collaborate with technical leaders across the wider organisation to improve services, products, practices, standards, project delivery, performance, and team culture.
- Working collaboratively across various teams. You will collaborate with Senior Responsible Owners, subject matter experts, and technical leads (Delivery Managers) across the wider organisation to support and deliver key project outcomes.
- Managing resources and competing demands. You will deliver change and projects with empathy and understanding for the wider needs and competing priorities of the business. You will ensure appropriate project resourcing and proportionate resource requirements on the wider business.
- Project Planning, Management and Reporting. You will use your existing knowledge and experience of waterfall and agile methods to recommend the best approach for project delivery (technical or non-technical). You will attend and present materials to the relevant governance and assurance boards – providing project transparency and accurate reporting.
