Job Description
The Site Manager plays an important role in delivery of the work programme to the client to time, cost and quality. The role holder is responsible for the day to day running of site / project, working with the Contract Manager to ensure that all client timescales are met without exposing our client to risk. Our client's Site Manager would normally be responsible for overseeing the operations being undertaken by our client directly or by subcontractors acting under the direct control of our client . If our client are acting as Principal Contractor on a scheme the Site Manager will also be responsible for overseeing the safe management of interfaces between any 3rd party contractors operating on the site in line with the scheme construction phase plan and their duties under the CDM regulations 2015 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The role requires an excellent understanding of delivering civil engineering operations while working in a high-speed road environment. The Site Manager takes responsibility for the safety, quality and environmental elements of the work being undertaken they essentially provide the bridge between site operations and office-based management. As such the role holder needs excellent IT skills, communication skills, and the ability to lead multi discipline site teams. They will be required to follow instructions and work programmes from the Contract Manager / Project Manager and other Operations Management and comply with site safety rules and our Health and Safety policies and standards.
Skills & Experience
- Experienced Site Manager in the Highways / Civil industry
- Civil Engineering experience, including drainage, earthworks, fencing, kerbing etc
- Commercial awareness and understanding of NEC Form of Contract
- Understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation
- Excellent communication, written and verbally
- Client liaison, building and maintaining good business relationships
Qualifications & Accreditations
- CSCS Supervisor / Gold Card
- NPORS/CPCS in Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers
- Full clean driving licence
