It is an exciting time to join Bristol Dental School as we move to a new clinical and teaching facility at 1 Trinity Quay, Avon Street, Bristol in Summer 2023.
Until then, you will be working on the Bristol Dental Hospital site and hold an honorary specialty dentist position at the University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Responsible to the Head of Bristol Dental School and Clinical Director at the Dental Hospital, you will contribute to the supervision, teaching and delivery of education to undergraduate, and potentially postgraduate students. The role may be primarily based in one of the clinical departments of the School & Hospital, however there may be the need to work flexibly across other departments as required.
We are looking for enthusiastic educators who will make a positive difference to our student’s experience.
Clinical Lecturers should expect to participate in teaching undergraduate dental students (BDS and Hygiene/Therapy) on clinics and clinical skills. This can include supervision, tutorials, lectures, and/or management and organisation of the programme. There may be opportunities to engage with postgraduate training and research for suitable candidates.
You will be expected to comply with all relevant Trust policies relating to administration of patient care. This includes working to specified protocols and policies within the Trust to support the management of patients.

- You want to play a significant part in the ongoing development of the new BDS 21 curriculum
- You are fully registered with the General Dental Council and hold BDS or equivalent
