Job Description
We’re on the hunt for friendly, welcoming staff to join our community park cafe team. You’ll provide excellent customer service and a warm welcome to visitors enjoying the park and popping in for yummy coffee, cake and light lunches. We want our customers to feel welcome and safe in our cafes, so your role will involve talking to customers or people attending one of our many group activities at the cafes.
Ideally you’ll have experience working in a busy catering environment, either front of house in a restaurant or cafe or in a commercial kitchen. It would be great if you’ve had barista coffee training, however full training will be provided if not.
We’re recruiting Cafe Assistants to work at our community park cafes at Redhill Park and Boscombe Chine Gardens. This will include working on weekends and bank holidays.
Some of Cafe Assistants will have overall responsibility to manage a cafe on our Cafe Manager’s days off. This will involve opening and closing up the cafe, and being the sole member of paid staff on site that day. You will be supported by volunteers working alongside you ans our Area Trading Manager will always be on hand to assist you during these days.
Terms:
- Hours: Variable, with a minimum of 8 hours a week
- Pay: £10.42 (if over 23) + holiday pay. If under 23 relevant minimum wage would be paid
- Contract type: casual
