The Innovation Portfolio Marketing Manager role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of marketing plans for Bristol Innovations in the Division of Research, Enterprise, and Innovation (DREI), as well as the wider Innovation goals in Bristol’s Research Sub-strategy.
The post holder will work in close liaison with the Bristol Innovations and Research Impact teams in DREI and will be part of the University of Bristol’s Strategic Communications and Marketing and Communications team.
Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Marketing, the role provides professional marketing advice and strategy, and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Bristol Innovations’ marketing plans, ensuring that they operate within the University of Bristol’s integrated marketing and communications strategies.
The role holder will use portfolio expertise, campaign, and performance data, plus sector and stakeholder insight to contribute to the University of Bristol’s Strategic Communications and Marketing Division’s strategic planning and direction in terms of communication and marketing techniques, targeting, products, services and market opportunities to enhance reputation and the profile of our world-leading research impact and innovation.
The role holder will support the Deputy Director of Marketing in shaping university marketing strategy and interpret that into a clear vision for marketing within DREI’s innovation context (including outstanding customer service).
You have experience of delivering marketing campaigns within a similar, complex environment. You will hold a degree in marketing or communications or hold equivalent experience, demonstrating your marcomms skills.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to quickly build relationships with and influence stakeholders of all levels. You will have developed written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrable ability to develop and deliver marketing plans and campaigns with creative and innovative flair.
This is a busy, varied role where priorities can change quickly so you will need to be adaptable and organised. The role will also require travel around the UK, and potentially abroad, so some flexibility will be required. The University operates a hybrid working policy with an expectation of two working days in the office with the rest of the time remote working.
