Operate a range of technical equipment in a news bulletins studio including autocue, sound and graphics play-in systems.
Support the Producer and Presenter to deliver bulletin output.
Follow and execute tasks outlined in a live news broadcast rundown, specifically iNews.
Mic on-air talent, whilst helping to maintain audio equipment.
Manage and test comms between studios.
Manage the studio floor, being responsible for health & safety, and keeping the gallery and
studio tidy at all times.
Prep elements ready for broadcast.
Report any technical issues to the engineering team in a timely manner, so that problems are quickly addressed, with minimal impact on the output.
Experience of working as a multi-skilled operator in a live broadcast environment, or relevant experience in a similar role.
A good understanding of broadcast systems, equipment and technology, including cameras, lighting, sound, and auto cue.
A good communicator who is able to move quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced broadcast environment, whilst keeping calm and taking instructions.
Proactive in approach, with good multi-tasking abilities.
Finding solutions to technical or other practical problems.
Willingness and able to work unsociable hours.
A strong desire to work as part of a team.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to fast-changing news agendas and breaking stories, which may involve last-minute rota changes.
An interest in growing skill sets across broadcast as audio and visual outputs continue to merge and blur.
