The Spire Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh has an exciting opportunity for a Bank Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our fantastic imaging department. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain experience in the field to support future career goals in imaging.
Murrayfield hospital was established as a purpose built hospital in 1984, conveniently located in the west of Edinburgh. In 2015 our consulting rooms had a £1 million refurbishment. In 2010 we opened Shawfair Park Hospital, a day case facility, based in south east Edinburgh. Each of our hospitals practice some of the most advanced treatments supported by the latest generation imaging and diagnostic technology. This means we offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading edge surgical procedures and cancer care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Consultants to prepare for imaging procedure and support them during the procedure.
- Respect patients’ privacy, dignity, wishes and beliefs and minimise any necessary discomfort
- Prepare patient, self, equipment and materials appropriately for the radiographic procedure to be undertaken
- Support patients throughout encouraging them to promote their own health and wellbeing
- Undertake procedure as delegated and taught for that specific patient working within level of competence
- Prioritise attention to patients, alerting the team when there are changes in the individuals’ health and wellbeing or any possible risks.
- Provide information to radiographic team on how clients’ needs are changing during their Diagnostic Imaging experience
Who we're looking for
- You will need to possess strong communication skills and have a good standard of IT
- Previous experience within private healthcare is desirable but not essential
- Have good communication skills
- Previous experience working in Radiology is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
