Job Description

We are seeking to recruit an HCPC registered Music Therapist to a permanent, Band 7, 0.4 WTE post (15 hours per week) within NHS Forth Valleyโ€™s Arts Therapies service. This is a rare opportunity to work within an established Arts Therapies team. The team is operationally managed by the Principal Arts Therapist and is hosted within the broader Psychological Therapies Service. The Arts Therapies service operates across the health board as a whole, with input to Learning Disabilities, Adult Mental Health and CAMHS.

The post holder will provide direct clinical input as a Music Therapist. This will take place within community and in-patient adult Learning Disabilities services. The post holder will manage their own caseload and work autonomously within multi-disciplinary teams.

NHS Forth Valleyโ€™s Psychological Therapies service is committed to staff development. The post holder will participate in Arts Therapies team meetings, team development sessions and reflective practice groups. All psychological therapies staff are supported with personalised development plans. The post holder will also have access to a range of reflective practice groups and CPD events within the wider Psychological Therapies service.

The successful candidate will ideally have some post-qualification experience of working as a Music Therapist, however, recently qualified therapists are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will also have experience of working with vulnerable people, preferably with learning disabilities, but experience of working with other client groups will be considered. Similarly, experience of working within an NHS environment is desirable, but relevant, similar experience will also be considered.

For informal enquiries please contact Alex Taneus-Miller, Principal Arts Therapist, on 01324 614347.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
