Job Description

Department: Foundation – Health and Wellbeing

Hours of Work: 35 Hours per week (including evening and weekends)

Salary: £26,000 to £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Villa Park with requirements to travel to and from community venues across Birmingham

Contract: 1-year specific purpose

Closing Date: Sunday 23rd April 2023

1. The Department

The Aston Villa Foundation is the official Charity of Aston Villa Football Club and prides itself in being innovative in its approach to the club being used as a ‘Force for Good’.

The Health and Wellbeing department is a fundamental strand within the Foundation and is critical in supporting people to address and improve their health and wellbeing needs, within Birmingham and its surrounding areas.

2. The Role

As the Wellbeing Practitioner, you will provide individual and personalised mental health and wellbeing support to a caseload of young people (20 per year) referred into the Foundation from services such as CAMHS.

Based at Villa Park and across community venues in city, you will deliver regular one-to-one and small group interventions and will embed a holistic approach, ensuring that support mechanisms are in place for young people.

You will need to construct bespoke session and actions plans to build a model of support that allows an individual to manage their mental health and wellbeing independently in the long-term, with internal colleagues and external partners.

3. The Person

The Aston Villa Foundation are seeking a high-skilled, pro-active, and driven Wellbeing Practitioner, with experience and a successful track record in mentoring young people, motivational coaching, and goal setting.

You will be key in the development of partnerships with relevant external organisations, to create a referral process into clinical services locally for those requiring professional support. Therefore, you will need to have a sound knowledge of children services in Birmingham and have the ability to develop relationships with other organisations.

A mental health counselling qualification/experience is a requirement for the role, in addition to a proven track record in working with vulnerable and marginalized young people and being well versed in safeguarding protocols.

For further information please see the Role Profile.

As part of your application, please ensure you upload your CV and Cover Letter.
