Job Description Overview The Failure Analysis department is evolving as a highly efficient, state-of-the-art facility. Providing characterisation and analytical services to Production, Yield Enhancement, Research and Development, the department also deals with customer returns. The Failure Analysis department will be a vital tool in ensuring that PragmatIC Semiconductor achieves its technology goals. The FA Engineer will be responsible in supporting and servicing the foundations of a highly effective FA and Device Characterisation team, supporting the growth in both the team and lab services. This role will be very hands on engineering with technical support/advisories expected to support, guide, and lead the various members within the team. Reporting directly to the FA Manager, this role has many opportunities to make immediate impacts across our many internal and external business streams. Key tasks Project engineering and coordination that meets both FA team and company set objectives. Growing Failure Analysis, Device Characterisation and Customer Returns services both internally as well as externally through effective growth of our FA/device characterisation engineering resources and services. Technical reporting, operational documentation, device forensics and general communications across the many business streams expected across, including on occasions directly to the Technical Leadership Team. Within the team, help to develop and evolve novel scientific techniques to consistently deliver effective FA solutions. Provide technical mentoring/coaching within a team of operators and technicians. Help to establish and maintain a safe, happy and productive laboratory environment. Training and Qualifications The successful candidate will be educated to degree or postgraduate degree level within a scientific or engineering discipline and will ideally demonstrate a strong background in Failure Analysis, Device Characterisation and/or Analytical sciences. Ideally expertise gained through the Semiconductor industry but would consider candidates from relatable industries which share the same FA service requirements. Training and Qualifications Technical expertise and experiences of Failure Analysis and Analytical Characterisation techniques. – Essential. Strong cross functional communications skills – Essential. Technical report writing / presenting skills -Essential. Previous experiences in analytical lab and device characterisation spaces – Advantage. Previous experiences in mentoring/coaching within FA technical environment – Essential. Process development engineering and operational FA competencies within a high technology environment. – Essential.
