Deputy Authorised Telecommunications Officer – (DATO)

Working Regime: Mon-Fri 37 Hour week
Here at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Airforce, providing air transport and air-to-air refueling to the RAF fleet, you will contribute enormously to the vital work carried out at this sire. You will also be part of the wider team, with 5,800 service personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 civil servants on site. Serco at RAF Brize Norton are looking to recruit a colleague fulfil the DATO role and join the existing team onsite.
Main Accountabilities:
- Assisting the Authorised Telecommunications Officer (ATO) with acquisition of equipment. Completing Service Order Request Forms (SORFs), ensures all changes to telecommunications are staffed with the (SCIDA).

Ensuring effective efficient management of RAF Brize Norton mobile phones, satellite phones, Wi-Fi equipment and Data Sims.

Maintain an asset register with telephone numbers (STRF), user information and service type

Inform the Master Update Centre (MUC) of all changes.

RAF Brize Norton Station Telephone Directory - co-ordinating updates and changes

Creating and maintaining Emergency Call Out procedures and plans.

Undertaking sample checks for call verification.

Conducting audits on bills.

Sit on and participate in Change Advisory Boards (CAB) as required for IT Change.

Confirming entitlements to services and placing orders for communication information services (CIS) through the appropriate means.

Fault resolution, through reporting and progressing faults through the appropriate agencies.

Managing outage notifications and arranging SME analysis as required to inform customers of the impact to services.

Fulfil the role of Articles in Use Holder (AinU) (Control and account for MoD Supplied Equipment).

Assisting the Authorised Telecommunications Officer (ATO) with any reasonable tasks.
Qualifications:
Vacancy ideally suited to personnel with Digital Support Flight experience, however, this is not essential.-
Capability to complete mandatory DATO Training Course (CN3600) at RAF Cosford (travel and subsistence allowance paid).
Essential technical and professional skills and knowledge:
The ability to successfully implement and apply MoD legislation, MoD Airfield, Radio and Telephony processes, Serco and RAF Brize Norton processes and procedures.
Essential experiences:

Excellent written and verbal communication and information management skills including O365
