We are looking for an experienced Health Intelligence Analyst to join our newly expanded Business Intelligence team, initially on a secondment basis with the potential to become permanent at the end of the period. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward thinking, proactive group of analysts as we expand our remit within the organisation.

Reporting to the Health Intelligence Manager, the Health Intelligence Analyst will support the development of a Population Health Management and Health Inequalities focused reporting and analytical capability workstream. They will support the creation, maintenance and updating of reports using Power BI and other platforms, and using SharePoint to store, organize, share, and access these reports. There will also be opportunities to use advancing technologies including machine learning, programming tools and reporting layers.

This role is part of the South East London (SEL) Analytics team within the Planning directorate of the ICB, and is responsible for the delivery of the Analytics and Business intelligence function to SEL ICB. The post-holder will report to the Health Intelligence Manager.

The team is responsible for analytics and business intelligence provision to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across South East London both within SEL ICS, including place-based teams, GP Primary Care Networks and acute providers, and also across London, within a changing NHS landscape. The ICB’s key partner organisations include Intelligence Solutions for London (ISL), which provides a central analytical function that supports all London ICS’s, by delivering data and application solutions, the NECS (North of England) DSCRO (Data Services for Commissioners), which securely processes and disseminates data on behalf of ICS’s, and regional and national teams within NHS England.

Health Intelligence Analysts will be expected to liaise closely with colleagues and the above partner organisations and stakeholders.

The South East London Integrated Care System (ICS) brings together the health and care partners that serve our vibrant and highly diverse populations resident in the London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark - our Places.

Our partnership brings together six local authorities, over 200 general practices (operating within 35 Primary Care Networks), Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS FT, King’s College Hospital NHS FT, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, South London and the Maudsley Mental Health FT and Oxleas FT. Importantly, the ICS seeks to be connected to the communities we serve (circa 1.92m residents) and work with the widest possible range of community, voluntary and third sector groups and organisations in each borough. The reach of our NHS provider portfolios extends beyond the borders of the ICS, across London, the south of England and nationally for some services.

The South East London ICB is the NHS management unit of the ICS. It is accountable both to NHS England and to the South East London Integrated Care Partnership (ICP).

Duty and Responsibilities

With experience of use of information across the NHS, you will be able to extract data using SQL and have good Excel skills to enable high quality analysis and presentation of data. Knowledge of creating reports in Power BI would be an advantage but not essential. Knowledge of designing and maintaining automated/advanced reporting systems using VBA, Python, DAX, R, or other languages would be an advantage but not essential. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills to enable you to present results and conclusions of analysis to stakeholders within the ICB.
