This post offers an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to develop expert skills in inpatient neurorehabilitation working. TheRegional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, based on Homerton Healthcare, is a level one multidisciplinary inpatient service.
RNRU and Homerton strongly support continuing professional development. The post presents the opportunity to develop clinical and professional skills in a acquired neurological communication and swallowing management as part of the SLT team. The post holder will also acquire experience in AAC, videofluoroscopy, complex client management, behaviour management, project working, training and supervision.

JOB SUMMARY
- Be responsible for and provide specialist assessment and intervention to a designated caseload of clients with neurological communication and / or swallowing difficulties in an intensive neuro-rehabilitation setting
- Provide training as appropriate to multidisciplinary team and families on acquired neurological communication and swallowing presentations
- Participate in running the videofluoroscopy clinic in rotation with other SLT team members
- Supervise junior staff, therapy assistants and students
- Actively contribute to the service development on the Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (RNRU) by participating or leading on projects
- Provide Keywork support to a section of the caseload, incorporating MDT liaison and coordination to provide smooth progress from admission to discharge
