This full-time post is available immediately on an open-ended subject to funding basis until December 2027.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.


The role

We are seeking to appoint an Administrative and Research Officer to play an important role in supporting the Exeter BRC.


The National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Centre for Exeter (NIHR Exeter BRC) is a collaboration between University of Exeter (UoE), The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHS Royal Devon) and other SW NHS organisations. The first of its kind for the South West, its fundamental objective is to improve health outcomes for patients and the public by translating scientific breakthroughs into potential new treatments, diagnostics and medical technologies. The NIHR Exeter BRC has received £15.6M and will create an environment in the South West for world-leading researchers to thrive and contribute significantly to the local and national economy.


This post will be responsible for leading on the administrative function of the core NIHR Exeter BRC team, ensuring the smooth running of operations whilst providing administrative support to the NIHR Exeter BRC Director and Chief Operating Officer. The postholder will also have responsibility for supporting the complex NIHR reporting processes across the BRC, supporting the BRC COO with data gathering and recording as directed. This will include responsibility for developing and maintaining systems to record BRC progress, on research outputs, including publications, conference papers and successful funding applications, ensuring compliance with NIHR procedures at all times
