Newly Qualified Paramedic

Are you a newly qualified Paramedic? Looking for a new challenge and adventure? Want to learn and develop in the NHS?

If yes, we have the role for you here at the South East Coast Ambulance sevice.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with South East Coast Ambulance Service to combine our industry leading Newley Qualified Paramedic programme with our bespoke International Recruitment package.We are keen to hear from Paramedic students who have trained in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Canada.

Successful candidates will be fully supported to move to the UK by our dedicated International Recruitment Team. In addition to this we have developed a one-of-a-kind pastoral care programme where dedicated International Ambassadors will ensure that your adjustment to the UK is as positive and stress free as possible.

From sponsoring your visa application through to meeting you at the airport and helping you set up a UK bank account, we will be with you every step of the way.

Once you are here you will complete a comprehensive transition to UK Practice programme before being enrolled in to the NQP (Newly Qualified Paramedic) programme. During this process you are supported and guided to build a e-portfolio whilst working alongside our incredible experienced front-line staff where you will develop your skills and gain valuable experience.

Once you have completed the transition to UK practice programme you will be expected to carry out paramedic duties as part of an operational crew on a rapid response vehicle. You will be working within scope of practice and adhering to protocols, procedures, SOPs and clinical guidelines, seeking appropriate clinical advice and/or support as required.

You will aim to reduce inappropriate demand for emergency services by referring patients to appropriate health and social care agencies in response to emergency/urgent calls not requiring hospital attendance, seeking appropriate clinical advice and support as required.

International NQP applicants must also have the ability to deal with stressful and sensitive situations whilst being highly motivated and enthusiastic.

You will need a full driving licence that you can convert to a UK driving licence upon arrival to the UK. We will support you to obtain your C1 licence and provide emergency blue light driver training.
