We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Administrator at our site in Corsham. Our team consists of a diverse mix of engineers, scientists and deep technical specialists. In joining us you will support one of largest and most complex programmes in defence. You will oversee challenges unique to this industry and will significantly impact project and programme success through your contribution.
You will be part of a team of people responsible for providing security administration services to the establishment.
As a Security Administrator, you will develop your skills and knowledge of Ministry of Defence (MOD) security policies, procedures and processes, to effectively administer classified material.
Please note the role will require the successful candidate to undertake Developed Vetting, which can take several months to complete.
About the role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Process and handle classified data assets in accordance with security processes.
- Provide direction and guidance to colleagues regarding security controls and tasks.
- Accurately record all transactions involving the transfer, distribution, shipment, receipt and destruction of classified assets.
- Muster all protectively marked computer media, books, keys, documents and registered files on site in accordance with the annual muster schedule.
- Assist in the resolution of anomalies discovered during musters and spot checks of classified assets.
- Conduct spot checks on classified assets in accordance with the correct security process.
- Procurement of equipment and services in support of security, facility maintenance and health & safety. Procurement of stationery items.
- Maintain accurate records on IT applications.
- Undertake other security administration tasks as delegated by the Establishment Security Officer.
Important Information
For health & safety reasons the successful applicant must be aware in the event of an emergency they will be required to climb multiple flights of stairs
Person specification
To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
- Experience of administration
- Experience in using MS Office products (Word, Excel)
- Experience in producing and maintaining accurate records
It will also benefit your application if you are able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
- Experience of working in a high security environment
