An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Specialty Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The successful candidate will complement the team of four consultants in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, two Consultants in Orthodontics, one visiting consultants in Restorative Dentistry and six ENT Surgeons who make up the Head and Neck Directorate.
OMFS is a specialty within the Surgical Services Directorate which is part of Acute Services.
The department provides treatment and healthcare on an area basis for a population of approximately 388,000. This post is based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
You will contribute to service requirements and may wish to develop your sub-specialty interest. You will also contribute to a proportionate share of the general work of the department. The following sub specialties are supported locally - dento-alveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, head and neck oncology, facial skin cancer, TMJ disease and implantology.
In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
This post is offered as a full time post but less than full time hours will be considered.
