Job Description
Role: Business Analyst (Core Insurance Sector)
Location: London, UK ( minimum 2 days weekly onsite)
· We are looking for a Commercial Insurance Business Analyst who will be the vital link between our information technology capacity and our business objectives by supporting and ensuring the successful completion of analytical, building, testing and deployment tasks of our pre-bind underwriting software features.
· The business analyst’s role is the bridge between describing the business users needs and challenges and turning them into software modelled functionality, in an insurance system. You will collaborate with end users, teams on implementations projects, user groups, research analysts and journalists to describe the functional requirements in terms that both business users and computer engineers can understand.
Requirements and skills
- Previous experience in Business / Systems Analysis, or working at an insurance company or within the Underwriting discipline within
· Preferential: Insurance experience in Property & Casualty/ Marine, Non-life insurance products in the Lloyd’s of London/ London Companies Market/UK commercial/wholesale Market, US Market
- Experience a plus in areas such as in underwriting risk analysis, risk triage, pricing, issuance, operational team management
- Proven experience in eliciting requirements and profiling different user persona’s needs
- Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions which are presented as business process diagrams, entity life histories and user journeys
- Good experience in writing requirement specifications based on Agile methodologies that employ the Epic, Feature, User Story approach
Responsibilities
· Define business analysis requirements and configuration specifications for new and existing features
· Analyse, research, and present using various sources and techniques, solutions to complex commercial insurance software functions
· Own and develop relationship with internal and external partners, working with them to optimize and enhance features, functions, and integration to third party services
· Help design and document system processes for new and existing features
· Report on common sources of business and technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team
· Communicate key insights, market developments and findings to product team
· Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and deliver better value to the customer

Pay: £65,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
