Wyman-Gordon is a world leading manufacturer of Nickel, Titanium and Steel alloy forgings for the aerospace, defence and energy sectors. Part of the major American corporation, PCC, we are a global manufacturer of complex metal components and supply products worldwide to our prestigious blue-chip customers.
We currently have vacancies for weekend multi-skilled Maintenance Fitters who will be an integral part of the wider Maintenance team. Applicants must be time served in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline, with an HNC in an Engineering related subject being desirable.
Basic working hours are 37 hours per week on two shift rotation:
Hours of work are on:
Day Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday 6am to 6pm
Night shift: Friday: 6pm to 12am Saturday, Sunday, Monday: 6pm to 6am
As part of a skilled team, this role involves responding to breakdowns and carrying out preventative and predictive maintenance activities on manufacturing plant and equipment. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a background within heavy engineering industry or be able to show versatility in quickly absorbing the detail of new manufacturing operations combined with well-rounded experience.
Applicants must be able to work under their own initiative, be self-motivated and have the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload. You must have a proven track record of fault finding with the ability to read technical drawings. You must also be able to work at heights and in enclosed spaces, as well as having basic IT skills together with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of High voltage distribution systems is also desirable
