Job Description

Proxima, part of the global Consulting firm, Bain & Company, have a great opportunity for a Data Analyst, initially based in Cwmbran and then moving to Cardiff. You will be a key member of our Delivery Enablement team working alongside our offices in London, Leeds, and the US.

Responsibilities of the Data Analyst

Support the analysis of commercial bids as part of a procurement tender process

  • Analyse spend data
  • Utilise client data to identify cost-saving and optimisation opportunities
  • Assist consultants in identifying cost-saving and optimisation opportunities in procurement
  • Collate supplier responses through scenario-based tools and scorecards for consultants to compare cost-savings available
  • Create data visualisation tools to support clients, automate and solve business problems and processes
  • Other pertinent data activities, such as data collation and transformation, creation of data visualisation for PowerPoint decks, and optimisation of files
  • Provide basic Excel training to new joiners across the business

Criteria for the Data Analyst position

  • Must have a minimum 6 months experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Excel and comfortable with Pivot Tables, Charts, Conditional Formatting and, advanced formulae such as Lookups and Conditional Formulae
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative flare and ability to visualise data
  • Work well under pressure and manage ambiguous requirements
  • Confident communication skills
  • Skilled at organisation and managing several tasks at once
  • Willingness to take constructive feedback and learn
  • Adaptable to changing business demands
  • Accountable and take pride in their output
