Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of our Quality and Safety team as a Patient Safety Partner. As a patient safety partner (PSP) you will be actively involved in the design of safer healthcare at all levels in the organisation. Previous applicants need not apply. This includes roles in safety governance. For example: Sitting on relevant committees to support compliance monitoring and how safety issues should be addressed Providing appropriate challenge to ensure learning and change The development and implementation of relevant strategy and policy. University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country. We serve around three million people and we’re highly regarded for our facilities, teaching and research. The Trust has around 1,450 inpatient beds across two sites in Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford. Our 11,000 strong workforce provide emergency treatment, planned operations and medical care from Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Stafford. We are the specialist centre for major trauma for the North Midlands and North Wales. We have put together a wide range of development packages aimed at ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Our goal is to be a world-class centre of achievement, where patients receive the highest standards of care and the best people come to learn, work and research. The Patient Safety Partner should ensure that any committee/group of which they are a member considers and prioritises the service user, patient, carer and family perspective and champions a diversity of views. Further detail on specific roles is provided in individual task descriptions. These include the time commitment for training, specific roles and frequency of meetings where appropriate.
