Our new Social Content Creator & Community Manager is one we’re all excited about here at McCain GB. One of our strategic pillars is ‘strengthening the McCain brand’ – and this role will help us do just that!
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is a 9-12 month fixed term contract covering a maternity cover.
We’re looking to grow a bigger and more engaged digital and social following across the UK and Ireland, and it’s the Social Content Creator & Community Manager job to showcase us as a brand leader within B2C and B2B social and digital environments. You’d work with some of the best creative agencies in the UK and shape an FMCG powerhouse brand for the future - turning online fans into consumers.
It’s a big job. Working as part of the McCain GB Marketing team you’re responsible for the connecting our online audience with our brand products, acting as the voice, tone and go-between of the McCain, Brew City and Foodservice brands. You’ll build brand presence and trust through digital engagement, community conversation and creating and sharing content.
Reporting into the Senior Brand Communications Manager, you will also…
Monitor the company’s various social channels - engaging with our audiences to build brand love for McCain through different initiatives and giveaways.-
Track, monitor, analyse and report on emerging issues & conversations across our pages, subjects trending with consumers, competitive activity, industry news, and any sensitive topics for McCain Foods.

Support brand comms & agency teams in adapting and publishing adapted social ‘business as usual’ content to be deployed across key social channels, bringing to life our hero creative content and adapting where relevant.

Foster a 1:1 connection with McCain Influencers & brand ambassadors to build strong relationships that showcase our brand to our key audiences in new and collaborative ways.

Lead & and own a social TOV toolkit/playbook.

Support Digital Marketing team’s initiatives beyond social media.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR…
We’re looking for a go-getter. Someone who is digitally and socially savvy, who can drive it to the next level.
And as well as a love of potatoes, you must also…

Be socially savvy with experience of community management experience on key platforms including: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked in & Tik Tok within a Corporate or agency Environment. And familiarity with social media management platforms such as Facebook Business Manager, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Social Studio etc.

Proven experience of working within FMCG marketing with a passion for Digital Marketing & Social Media.

Have strong creative judgement, with an eye for typography and graphic design. As well as basic photography and videography skills.

Keep your finger on the pulse as to what the community is talking about, and the trends that they’re engaging with. As well as in the know of the goings on in the world of FMCG and foodservice.

Have strong communication skills. With solid content writing as you’ll be the voice of the brand, so it’s a given you’ll be able to write ‘social first’ copy, flexing your style to suit the different channels and audiences.

Have some design skills with exposure and experience with graphic design creation tools such as Canva or Piktochart.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK…
We know visiting the office daily is a thing of the past, and with our Head Office in Scarborough, North Yorkshire we know this wouldn’t suit everyone. We operate a Hybrid working policy, and your success will be measured by the objectives you deliver, and not where you’re based. So although we don’t dictate a certain number of days we’d like to see you in the office, we would like to see you weekly.
