The Quality Engineer will work within the Quality function to support the team in ensuring products and components are designed, assembled and manufactured to the required standards and meet customer expectations. Working closely with the team of Engineers, the position holder is expected to support the culture of continuous improvement and process compliance and liaise with all functions to maintain quality focus throughout the business.
- Duties and responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
- Supporting NCR and complaints processes, ensuring NCR’s and complaints are investigated, corrections applied, and where required root cause determined, corrective actions implemented and effectiveness verified.
- Supporting the improvement process, ensuring that identified improvements are evaluated and followed through.
- Supporting risk process, ensuring that identifed risks are evaluated, understood, and where required mitigated.
- Responsible for conducting and documenting Quality Audits, maintaining upkeep of the quality schedule, and analysis of audit findings
- Conducting basic part checking/inspection during busy periods/periods of absence.
- Working closely with ours stores and purchasing teams
- Raising non stock PO’s for missing items in assemblies.
- Degree or equivalent in a technical subject.
- Proven experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of working within a ISO9001/AS9100/ NADCAP certified company and/or a SixSigma/Lean/TQM environment
- CQI or ASQ qualifications in inspection
- Experience with Supplier Performance Management
- Experience of working with SAP
- Use of Microsoft packages
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Methodical, committed to quality and willing to work within set procedures under pressure
- Experience of project management

- Capable of understanding and working from engineering drawings and specification documents
