Job Description
The majority of the work will involve butchering tasks & making our free-range pork produce. However, there is farm work / livestock keeping tasks associated with the job. Occasional weekend work will be offered as overtime to cover hog roast/catering events throughout the year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter who is keen to take on responsibility within the business. This is a varied role and will give full exposure to a range of skills.
- Trimming, cutting and dicing meat
- Breaking down carcasses of free-range pork
- Making sausages and burgers
- Making a variety of other free-range pork produce
- Preparing orders, packing & labelling produce
- Opportunity to get involved with the catering aspect of the business serving & cooking hog roasts and bbq's
- Handling our free-range pigs and animal welfare
- Mucking out pigs / keeping on top of the cleaning of livestock and the farm generally / feeding the pigs
- Other farm tasks as and when required
- Managing food hygiene and safety
We ideally need someone to cover 3 days a week as a minimum. However, there is scope for additional hours we just didn't want to restrict our advert as are open to different circumstances. Between 24 and 32 hours available per week.
