Work for Us
Help us achieve more for nature’s recovery and our community!

Could you be part of the future for Sheffield & Rotherham? Do you have a passion for the environment? For ensuring all our diverse communities have the opportunity to access and enjoy nature? For connecting and empowering people to take action, supporting nature’s recovery and helping to solve the climate crisis we are in?

Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust is ambitious and dedicated to realising a vision where there is an abundance of nature that is protected, cared for and experienced by everyone.

We’re looking for the right candidate to join our Community Engagement team. As Nature Connection Manager you’ll use your skills and experience to lead our work increasing access to nature. Through developing and delivering a wide ranging programme of activities and experiences you and your team will support people to enjoy, learn about and connect with nature. With our partners, you’ll work towards securing accessible natural green space close to where people live (5 minutes to nature for all).

Whilst our goal is that everyone can experience and benefit from a connection to nature, our current priorities include engaging children and young people, supporting green social prescribing and wellbeing benefits from nature connection and engagement with communities that currently experience barriers to accessing nature.

As well as direct delivery of our own programmes of activities you and your team will provide training and resources to enable and influence others, particularly those working within the health and education sectors, to bring the benefits of nature connection into their work.

Alongside your experience of nature based engagement activities you will bring skills in partnership working, developing productive relationships and a track record of working in underserved communities.
