Job Description
The UHDB Dermatology department based at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and the Royal Derby Hospital is a very busy department, with 8 Dermatology Consultants, 2 Associate Specialists along with a team of Specialist Registrars, GP Hospital Practitioners / Specialty Doctors and Specialist dermatology nurses.
This post is 50% Teaching Fellow appointment for a fixed-term period of 12 months. Based at Florence Nightingale Hospital and the Royal Derby Hospital, the appointee will undertake duties for the Directorate of Medical Education and Workforce.
Four programmed activities per week will be allocated for the post holder to support Undergraduate Medical Education teaching, as well as teaching administration time.
There will be two service delivery sessions in the form of a dermatology clinic and a surgical session to gain experience and skills in dermatology at post graduate level, and a dermatology CPD session, as well as clinical administrative time. There will be opportunities to see dermatology ward referrals.

- Development and delivery of SIFT teaching clinics and practical skills in dermatology
- Deliver patient based teaching to CP2 medical students
- Provide and contribute towards service delivery in supervised clinics and surgical sessions
- Undertake assessments of Mandatory Core Clinical Skills (MACCs)
- Represent the Trust at Course Management and Working Party meetings at the University of Nottingham as required
- Contribute to the written examination (formative and summative) questions for CP2 assessments
- Formally examine medical students undertaking CP1,CP2 and CP3 OSCEs
- Support the pre-clinical hospital visits undertaken by the University of Nottingham medical students
- Contribute to the CP2 revision course
- Take part in 1 to 1 support for struggling students
- Undertake MMedSci in Medical Education
- Keeping up to date and participating in CME and CPD
- To deliver any relevant teaching to medical students at the discretion of the Associate Clinical Sub Dean
- Participate in annual appraisals
