Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced self-employed Construction Site Supervisor/Manager to join our team working on residential building projects in North London and the Home Counties.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Construction Site Supervisor/Manager you will be responsible for managing the residential projects which can vary between extensions, conversions, new builds etc and trades on a daily basis. Reporting directly to the Construction Directors, you will be managing all site activities, ordering materials, reading plans and jumping on the tools where required.
KEY DUTIES
- Manage all site activities to ensure compliance with HSE and good practices are adhered to along with programme timeline are being met.
- Ensure drawings and specifications are being worked to and that standards of work comply with Building Control and Warranty requirements.
- Liaise and supervise all sub-contract trades on site.
- Monitor and inspect quality and presentation to ensure that the highest standards are being achieved and encourage continuous improvement.
- High level of customer service and co-operation.
- Provide solutions to any delays, issues and risks and escalate to the Directors as appropriate.
- Review & revise the Programme weekly.
- Order all materials with suppliers or via the office.
- Collaborating with specialists such as architects, engineers and local government officials for permits and licences, contractors and clients.
- Complying with legal requirements, safety and building codes and keeping daily logs and diaries.
- Ordering equipment and materials, managing their use and managing the personnel involved.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Previous construction experience preferably as a Multi-Trader or Carpenter.
- Ability to read drawings and plans.
- Good communicator and a leader, along with being organised, driven and focused.
- Resilient in the face of challenging situations and deadlines.
- Able to manage, motivate and support the team effectively.
- Ability to work on own initiative and excellent attention to detail.
HOURS
- Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm, occasional Saturdays when required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
