With 20 years of leading industry experience, SMS Environmental Ltd provides vital water hygiene services to domestic and commercial sectors throughout the UK.
As a result of business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Legionella Risk Assessor to join our growing team in Scotland. You will help to deliver water system surveys and risk assessments to a variety of community based customers, working across a wide range of building types including individual residences and small offices to large schools, care homes and healthcare facilities. These roles are field-based and travel will be required as part of this role.
Please note: Travel will be a requirement of this role.
The Legionella Risk Assessors are responsible for:
- Ensuring customer and business compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274 part 2, BS 8580-1 and other relevant industry standards and guidance
- Promoting and supporting Health & Safety regulatory standards and practice at site and in our service delivery
- Problem solving /diagnosing faults within Plumbing Systems and making recommendations for maintenance and remedial work where appropriate
- Co-ordinating with the internal SMS Quality Control/Assurance team to ensure delivery of related documentation to regulatory standards
- Compiling accurate schematic diagrams of domestic water systems
The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate that they have:
- Demonstrable experience of the Water Hygiene Industry and/or conducting Risk Assessments (Essential)
- Approved Legionella Risk Assessor Qualification (eg: City & Guilds, BOHS, WMSoc) is desirable; certification can be arranged for an experienced candidate
- Competent working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and practice (Important)
- Strong IT skills, particularly within Apple applications (Essential)
There are some minimum requirements you will need to meet to be considered:
- Full UK Driving licence
- Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (DBS check)

Salary: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
