Gate Gourmet is the world's largest independent provider of catering services for airlines and are the core business behind gategroup, whose eleven associated brands offer customers a comprehensive scope of products and services for virtually any on-board need. We provide more than 200 million meals a year to our 270-plus customers at some 120 airport locations around the globe.


About the role:

As we continue to grow, we are looking for team leaders to manage the growing team. Reporting to the Section Manager, the Production Team leader will lead the shift/team in order to deliver business objectives and targets to optimize company resources, within own area of responsibility. We are currently looking for Shift team Leaders in Wash & Pack, Pick & Pack and Make & Pack.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures completion of tasks in an effective and efficient way according to agreed objectives, budget, procedures and specification; provides reporting as required.
  • Creates and maintains a positive working environment through appropriate actions and behaviors.
  • Resolves or/and escalates conflict and provides solutions and executes corrective actions.
  • Supports and maintains CI initiatives.
  • Carries out performance monitoring of team members on shift.
  • Attends operational meetings as assigned.
  • Communicates, engages and develops team members to enable them to maximise their contribution to the section's performance.
  • Accountable for legal/ HACCP compliance across health and safety, food safety, security, and gateOPEX (in-house operational excellence programme).
  • Contributes and manages within defined information systems and working procedures to ensure quality of product and service to the customer.


Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Ideally educated to a degree level but not essential


Work Experience:

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment leading a team.
  • Previous shift/ Staff management experience ideally within food manufacturing sector.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant operational experience.


Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

  • Food hygiene, security, H&S experience/qualification preferred.
  • Awareness of aviation security preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team management skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel desirable
  • Proactive and flexible attitude
  • Sound analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
