Business Development Support
Location: Manchester or Liverpool
What is the team like?
An exciting opportunity to join our national team of Business Development Directors, supporting our efforts in the North promoting Investec's business services to external IFAs and related intermediaries.
The primary partnership is to work with our BDD's in the North. This area is a core focus of the business.
What is the primary objective of the role?
Primary role is to promote and sell IW&I's products and services to IFAs and their clients; to arrange meetings for the BDD to attend; to ensure active follow up on sales and webinar campaigns; to ensure the internal salesforce system is maintained and updated.
What are the key responsibilities?
- Proactively manage leads in Salesforce
- Plan and prioritise tasks effectively to ensure all sales opportunities are maximised
- Work closely with BDD to ensure smooth handover of sales opportunities
- Build effective relationships with both the internal and external customer
- Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of IW&I investment services and products & Investec Bank services.
- Develop and be able to demonstrate and awareness of the IFA market and our competitors.
- Work closely with Intermediary Services colleagues to fully understand all aspects of support, MI, Salesforce, Due Diligence, etc.
- Work closely with Investment Managers and IM Team Administrators to develop knowledge and understanding of investment management and servicing of IFA relationships.
- Work closely with Marketing Team, Business Development and Investment Management colleagues to assist in organising events and provide administrative support.
- Develop knowledge of, and comply with, all regulatory and organisational requirements / procedures.
- Support in organising, attending and actively participating in networking events, conferences and other promotional activities.
- Deal professionally with internal and external queries.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings as required.
- Liaise with Team members and other departments as required.
- Adopt a flexible approach to travel and working hours.
- Read financial press regularly and keep abreast of investment themes.
- Ensure skills and knowledge base is abreast of current developments.
- Complete appropriate professional examinations (as detailed below).
- Attend on-going professional training courses and events.
What core skills and knowledge are we seeking?
