Job Description

J C Michael Groups Ltd is a Domiciliary Care Agency with Branches in London, the Surrounding Counties and Scotland, we pride ourselves in being the Face of Care of the UK. We are looking to recruit an addition of Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team.


You will be based in our Head Office in Canary Wharf.


Main Duties Include:

Payments and Treasury

Managing the Branch Accounts

Posting Sales and Purchase invoice into Xero

Monthly and Year‐end Accounts

Credit Control

Timesheets and Expenses

Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial reports

Assist with VAT return.

Project Finance

Monitoring office supplies and ordering / purchasing supplies as required

Performing Bank Reconciliation

General Bookkeeping


PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for a hard‐working and enthusiastic individual who will be reliable and work well within a small and friendly team. Intermediate to advanced level excel skills would be favourable. Self-motivation


QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

Minimum of five GCSEs (graded A-C), including English and Maths (or equivalent)

Degree/Certificate in AAT or Accounting/Finance/Economics (or equivalent)- preferably but not essential

Relevant Work Experience in Bookkeeping

Strong Attention to Details

Experience in Xero (preferably but not essential)


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Accounting package experience: preferably Xero


PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

Basic -Intermediate accounting knowledge

Purchase Ledger experience


ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Accurate and numerate
  • Good communication skills: written and oral
  • Ability to multitask
  • Good computer skills: MS Word and intermediate MS Excel
  • Ability to handle a high volume of data processing
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to follow existing systems and procedures efficiently
  • Ability to maintain appropriate relationships
