Community Youth Services have a role available for
Sessional Youth Worker
Youth clubs support young people aged 13-17yrs (up to 25yrs for SEND) to gain personal and social development opportunities enabling them to thrive into adulthood. Youth club sessions are delivered mainly in the evenings in various locations across the city. During school holidays daytime sessions are often delivered through a holiday programme of activities.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Taking an active role in planning/delivering a curriculum programme of activities which promote young people’s social, educational, and personal development.
- Providing young Sheffield residents with a suitable role model
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and reporting any concerns to relevant staff members.
- Acting professionally and maintaining appropriate boundaries
- To build a rapport with young people and listen to their concerns, views, and opinions.
- To facilitate and participate in games, activities, and discussions with young people
- To contribute to the sessions briefing and debrief with other youth work staff
- Deliver services in line with SCC policies, procedures, and guidelines.
