Job Description

The key responsibilities include:

• Service Desk activities including issue, return, and renewal of materials.
• Circulation duties including processing of reservations and fetching items from the closed stacks.
• Membership Desk activities including registering new readers and renewing existing accounts.
• Answering user enquiries including face-to-face, by telephone and online. Efficient and prompt referral of complex enquiries to appropriate second-line staff.
• Processing and handling of fines and library charges face-to-face, by telephone, and online.

The Successful Applicant

Person Specification:

• Experience of working in a busy customer facing role.
• Approachable, friendly, and helpful manner.
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service in a team environment.
• Effective team player with equal ability to work independently.
• Excellent IT Literacy, including experience of using desktop operating systems and software packages (e.g., Windows systems, Microsoft Office, email systems, Library Management Systems etc.).
