19-20 hours per week approx
Due to an internal promotion we now have a vacancy for a receptionist at the clinic.
The hours for this post are
Mondays 2pm-7.30pm, Tuesdays 8.30-2.30pm, Wednesdays 8.30am - 2.30pm and Saturdays as above on rotation (currently 1 in 5). The start date for this post is April 2023.
Bank Holidays are also worked on rotation and this equates to one or 2 per year shared with the reception team.
We are looking for another team member to join our amazing supportive reception team who always strive to deliver to a high level of customer service. We are a busy first opinion practice with a team dedicated to providing a very high level of clinical care and customer service. I will say again this is a busy role!
This is a busy client facing role, our receptionists are the first face our clients see or voice on the phone, so a calm, welcoming and friendly person is essential even under pressure of phones ringing and clients arriving. We are very much looking to develop the customer service side of this role so having a passion for providing excellent communication and customer/ client service is important.
The role includes,
Making appointments
Planning surgical appointments and liaising important instructions to clients
Advising clients on the various options for healthcare plans and helping choose the best for their needs
Assisting in the dispensary
Emailing records and importing laboratory results
Taking payments
Maintaining a clean and welcoming reception area
Liaising with all members of the team
The person we are looking for will be caring, professional and committed to providing excellent service with a smile Calm under pressure and able to multitask with attention to detail. We receive a high number of calls and visitors and there can often be tasks occurring simultaneously. Posses excellent communication skills. The role involves face to face, phone and email communication and it must always be complete and accurate.
There needs to be some flexibility regarding shift times. Our shifts can cover anything from an 8.30am start to a 7.30pm finish if on a late. It may be necessary to help out on the very odd occasion to cover holiday or sickness .
A ‘can do’ and positive attitude is something we encourage throughout the whole team.
No veterinary experience is required for this role, although it may be beneficial. Previous experience of working in a customer facing role would be helpful. It goes without saying you must be passionate about pets and their welfare, but equally great with the people that bring them!
