Job Description
We are looking for a Support Worker to help support an ageing population in our care home. This could include helping with any mobility issues, assisting with medication schedules, cooking and providing basic hygiene services. We are looking for someone who has experience working with a diverse population, and we value their commitment to the job and will train you to be a Support Worker if you do not already have experience in this area.
Responsibilities:
- Recognise social and psychological factors that influence behaviour and development.
- Recognise physical signs of health problems, especially in older people.
- Be able to communicate effectively with older people, their carers, and other health professionals.
- Implement interventions to prevent and reduce risk of falls.
- Manage challenging behaviours and support those requiring complex care.
- Ensure that any personal care and nursing procedures are carried out safely and sensitively.
- Ensure that all medications are correctly administered.
- Have strong interpersonal skills to work well with team members, carers, other health professionals, and older people.
- Have good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £9.00-£10.00 per hour
