The Role:
We are looking for a Product Manager for Technology Project Portfolio Management. This role is key to enabling efficient and effective ways of working across our transformational portfolios, through the development of Technology enabled solutions and capabilities. In this role it is you’ll be required to have an understanding of the Colleague experience, their needs, priorities, and requirements, to ensure that supporting technologies can enable us to deliver our digital transformation objectives in the most efficient and effective ways.
As a part of the Sysco Technology Strategy and Portfolio Management function, this role will have responsibility for developing the Project Portfolio Management Technology Product Roadmap in partnership with our Community of Portfolio Practitioners which has participation of Colleagues from across Technology and the broader Sysco organization. It will make decisions on what products, capabilities and functionality are required in order to enable Portfolio Management capabilities. They will take the lead on overseeing the product backlog and deciding what new features or developments are released and when based on the value they will deliver to our Colleagues.
This role will be successful by delivering the following outcomes:
- creation of transformational portfolios through technology enabled solutions while aligning transformational portfolios to Key Strategic Objectives through technology enabled solutions
- forecasting projected costs for transformational portfolios through technology enabled solutions and prioritization of initiatives across transformational portfolios through technology enabled solutions
- Provide overall Technology Product Development of Portfolio Management capability, taking a hands-on approach to product delivery, undertaking tasks and activities to configure and/or build specific product features.
- Provide Product Leadership, and lead planning activities and work with stakeholders such as the Community of Practice to deliver a Colleague focused product.
- Conduct Product Planning, applying knowledge in the discipline of planning and scheduling for the successful delivery of capability, features and functionality, including the resolution of risks and issues and identification of opportunities across the product.
- Provide regular reporting to present accomplishments of progress across the product lifecycle, gaining feedback and approval to proceed from key stakeholder groups.
- Develop performance measures that captures data and develops a set of metrics that will help to provide insights into product performance as well as opportunities to improve the product.
- Develop a Capability Management approach to oversee the identification of skills and competencies that support the delivery and ongoing use of the product.
- Provide ongoing training and be responsible for the provision of appropriate training methods and materials for Colleagues and stakeholders specific to Project Portfolio Management capabilities.
- Regularly conduct robust Quality Assurance and Testing of product features prior to general release.
- Conduct regular analysis having the ability to understand business change relating to the product, map processes and the impacts of change on the product.
Knowledge, skills, experience, and competencies
As a Product Manager for Sysco GB you will be responsibly for the deliverables linked to the product roadmap for Project Portfolio Management Technology. To do this will require:
You to hold experience in Product Management and Project Portfolio Management Lifecycle (e.g., PMI, APM). It would be helpful if you have experience of working with and developing PPM systems and technologies (Such as Planview / Project Server / Clarizen)
It would be advantageous if you hold experience with agile development methods and examples of proven experience in planning and scheduling in a Software Development environment.
Finally, an understanding of Analytics Tools e.g. Power BI (Dax Coding) or Tableau and knowledge of Process Design Techniques (e.g., SIPOC, BPM)
