The role of a Driver for Heron Foods is divided into 2 areas; professional standards of driving along with the loading and unloading of deliveries meaning it’s more physical than most Driver jobs. Previous experience is preferred. Applicants must hold a current Class 1 C+E driving license. This position operates on a '5 on 3 off' shift pattern which includes regular weekend work, shift starts at 4am.

Tasks and Responsibilities of the HGV Class 1 Driver include

Making multi drop deliveries and assisting in the unloading of products and cages into stores

Collecting stock and delivering to site

Collection of empty pallets, steel and cardboard from stores and returning to the distribution centre

Completion of daily vehicle checks and maintaining working order of company vehicles and any equipment on board

Reporting of any vehicle damage or faults
Successful HGV Class 1 Drivers will have the following

Full and current Class 1 C+E driving license

Must hold a DIGI tacho card

Good knowledge of driving laws and regulations

Able to communicate and clearly follow written and verbal instructions, able to lift and manoeuvre medium to heavy loads
