Senior Dog Grooming Stylist Position - Maternity Cover (9 - 12 months)
Pampered Paws Dog Grooming is a small yet busy dog grooming business, at the premises of a large well established boarding kennels which has been running for approximately 40 years. Although working from the premises, please note that you would not be an employee of the kennel business.
We are looking for our ideal candidate to be an experienced, enthusiastic, passionate, trustworthy, reliable team player who can bring their various skills to the business and work independently without much supervision. We are looking for you to be highly motivated and be able to work well under pressure in our busy salon.
This is a temporary position for between 9 - 12 months in order to cover maternity leave starting approximately July/August 2023. Your weekly working hours will be mainly full time hours however they may be less based on demand during some months (Jan/Feb etc).
May be an option to extend over the maternity cover period depending on demand.
The candidate must have at least 2 years post qualifying grooming experience and have a recognised UK qualification (City & Guilds, OCN or ICMG). Preferably, the ideal candidate will be city and guilds trained. You must be able to complete full grooms from start to finish on your own to a high standard on a wide range of dog breeds. Once hired your target is to complete 5 full grooms per day.
Reporting to the Business Owners, your responsibilities will be as follows;
- Ensuring the highest standards of grooming is delivered at all times
- Offering our customers excellent customer service
- Managing the phone and social media enquiries to maximise the number of appointments in the diary
- Keeping high standards of cleanliness within the grooming shop
- Excellent care and supervision of all dogs in the care of the business
- Responding to telephone, email and social media enquiries and bookings
- Administration of customer’s details and keeping booking records up to date
- Supervision and maintenance of equipment

Hours of work: Variable between 9am - 5pm Tuesday - Saturday
Wages: £12ph
