Band 4 Research Assistant:
The role of the Clinical Research Assistant is to provide research participant centered care and administrative support to the research team. The post holder will work alongside the research team to support participants who have consented to take part in clinical research trials.
This is an exciting opportunity to take part in the clinical research studies which are fundamental to supporting the HIV research portfolio.

You are responsible for ensuring that the Trust’s policies, procedures and obligation in respect of promoting equality and diversity are adhered to in relation to both staff and services.
Responsibilities will include performing observations, assisting in identifying and recruiting participants to clinical trials, managing sample collection including phlebotomy and processing of clinical trial samples, creation and maintenance of files for clinical trials, assisting in clinical trial data entry and maintenance of databases of trial activity.
- Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
- GCSE English and Mathematics – grade C or above (or its equivalent
- NVQ level 3 Health & Social Care or Science Degree.
- ICH GCP training
- Recent experience of dealing with the public on a regular basis.
- Recent experience of working in a research environment.
- Understanding of patient and data confidentially procedures
- Recent experience of working in healthcare
- Understanding of Patient Administration Systems/ CERNER and Electronic Patients Notes
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Willingness to learn and undertake new skills
- Ability to organize own workload and use own initiative with clear decisionmaking.
- Ability to work well under supervision and within the multidisciplinary team.
- IT skills including Word and Excel, Internet, email
