Practice Plus Group were recently awarded the healthcare contract at HMP Belmarsh and will begin delivering services in May 2023. We are the Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.
We are searching for a Senior Pharmacy Technician looking to work within a prison setting and be responsible for the line management of pharmacy technicians and support of the development of junior staff. You will look after the administration and medicines management, and will work across our primary care and substance misuse wings. You will provide health promotion advice to our men in areas such as giving up smoking, hypertension, healthy living and other minor ailments.
You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team. It essential that you are ACPT qualified.

HMP Belmarsh is a Category A men’s prison with an operational capacity of over 910 inmates and is located in South East London. The site houses a High Security Unit (HSU) and is regarded as the most secure prison unit in the United Kingdom. HMP Belmarsh became operational in April 1991 and is adjacent to and adjoin to Woolwich Crown Court.
